Section 1 – Payment, Expenses and Charges

1a. The total cost of the Cyanotype Printing Workshop is £85.00, which includes all required materials (e.g. coated paper, chemicals, and basic tools). Full payment is required prior to the commencement of the workshop.

1b. Additional materials (e.g. extra cyanotype paper, chemicals, or optional print surfaces) may be available for purchase on the day, subject to availability. Prices will vary depending on the materials, and payment will be required immediately upon purchase.

1c. Participants may also request additional items such as framing, prints on canvas, or specialty paper. A full price list will be provided upon request.

1d. Participants may cancel up to 48 hours prior to the workshop start time and receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop will result in the forfeiture of any payments made.

1e. If a participant cancels with less than 48 hours' notice, fails to attend, or does not arrive at the designated time, no refund will be issued.

Section 2 – Force Majeure

2a. This contract may be altered or cancelled due to unforeseen events beyond either party's control. While all materials are prepared in advance, the organiser is not responsible for workshop disruption due to external factors such as venue access issues or transport delays.

2b. Given the nature of cyanotype printing and its reliance on natural light (or UV alternatives), participants acknowledge that the organiser is not responsible for any unsuccessful prints resulting from weather conditions or technical difficulties.

2c. No guaranteed number of successful prints is promised, due to the experimental and educational nature of the process. At the organiser’s discretion, additional time or materials may be offered, depending on availability and circumstances.

2d. In the event of unsuitable weather (e.g. prolonged rain when UV exposure is required outdoors), the workshop may be rescheduled at short notice. An alternative date (within 6 months) will be offered. If this is not suitable, a full refund will be issued.

Section 3 – Display

3a. By participating, attendees grant the organiser permission to photograph the workshop and resulting prints for promotional purposes (e.g. website, social media, flyers), unless they specifically request otherwise. Copyright of any prints created by participants remains with the participant.

3b. Requests to opt-out of photography must be made at the start of the workshop and communicated directly to the instructor.

Section 4 – Copyright

4a. Under the Copyright Designs and Patents Act, the organiser retains the copyright of any images captured by them during the workshop (e.g. photographs of the event or participant work). These may not be copied or used without prior written permission.

4b. Any digital images taken by the organiser during the workshop (e.g. documentation of final prints) will be shared with participants via WeTransfer, where applicable.

4c. Participants may use any organiser-supplied images of their work for personal use, including social media and personal portfolios.

4d. All cyanotype prints created by the participant remain the intellectual property of the participant. Originals will be retained by them unless otherwise agreed.

4e. Participants grant permission to the organiser to use digital photographs of their cyanotype work for promotional purposes, with appropriate credit given. Participants may opt out by request.

Section 5 – Limitation of Liability

5a. In the unlikely event of cancellation or failure to deliver the workshop, the organiser’s liability is limited to the value of the booking fee. No additional claims for indirect or consequential loss will be entertained.

5b. Participants are responsible for any damage caused to workshop equipment due to negligence, and may be liable for replacement or repair costs.

5c. Any damage to the venue or surrounding property caused by a participant will be their responsibility. The organiser encourages respect for all locations used.

Section 6 – Personal Accident

6a. A health and safety briefing will be provided at the beginning of the session. Participants are responsible for following safety instructions. The organiser is not liable for accidents or injuries occurring due to disregard of safety procedures.

6b. If a participant acts in a way that endangers themselves or others, the organiser reserves the right to terminate their involvement in the workshop without refund. Such behaviour may result in exclusion from future events.

Section 7 – Governing Law

7a. This agreement is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
