WORLD FLAG DAY - Cyanotype a Shetland Flag at Sumburgh Lighthouse

Join us for an afternoon of creative experimentation with cyanotype printing – a beautiful, historic photographic process known for its striking blue tones.
This historic printing process is perfect for printing both the Shetland and the Scottish flags so for World Flag Day join us at Sumburgh Lighthouse where for a small charge, you can print your own Shetland Flag post card!

Kids Vintage Camera Day at Sumburgh Lighthouse

Step back in time at Sumburgh Lighthouse for a fun-filled day of creativity and discovery!
As part of Kids Arts and Crafts Week, children will choose a real vintage camera, learn how it works, and head outdoors to capture their own photographs on film. Their photos will be developed by Chris G Smith Photography, with digital scans sent afterward. Kids will also enjoy a guided tour of the historic lighthouse, learn about the heritage of the first Stevenson Lighthouse, then relax with refreshments in the observatory.
A perfect blend of history, art, and hands-on fun!

Join us for an afternoon of creative experimentation with cyanotype printing – a beautiful, historic photographic process known for its striking blue tones. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to explore new ideas, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the basics of the cyanotype process from start to finish.

A curated selection of images, flowers, and feathers will be provided for you to create unique prints. You’re also welcome to bring your own items such as:
​
– Fabrics (cotton, etc) to print on
– Flowers, leaves, or seaweed to create organic impressions
– Personal images (please email these by Tues 22nd July to cgsphotos@outlook.com if you’d like us to prepare a digital negative for printing)
Spaces are limited to 10 people, so booking is essential. All materials and guidance are included – just bring your creativity!
Cunningsburgh Show - Trade Stand

Cunningsburgh, Shetland.
Come along to one of Shetlands oldest annual events, The Cunningsburgh Agricultural Show, run each year in August since 1935! There is lots to see and do, try and buy.
In 2025, I have been privileged to take part by having my own trade stand, so pop along and see me there! I'll have prints and other photography items for sale, as well as a range of workshops to be able to book!
